ICE FOG at the Lake of the Ozarks
When the extreme cold blankets the Lake of the Ozarks, the heat remaining in the water is released into the air and an intense lake fog develops.
WATER TEMP: 50F
AIR TEMP: 1F
With this type of temperature gradient, the fog freezes in the air and on nearby objects. The result is a beautiful sunrise that glistens through the ice crystals in the bare winter trees. Looking toward Westport Yacht Club, this sunrise was especially filled with ice fog.
